Zhùcí “ba”
语气助词“吧”用在句尾，除了表示疑问以外，还有其他意思。
As a modal particle,吧is used at the end of a sentence. It also indicates other meanings besides question.
一、表示商量、建议 indicating discussion and suggestion
说话人提出一个想法，跟听话人商量，或是给对方提出建议。The speaker offers an idea to discuss with the listener or gives the listener a suggestion.
玛丽：我们坐地铁还是坐公共汽车。
Mǎlì: Wǒmen zuò dìtiě háishì zuò gōnggòng qìchē.
大卫：坐地铁吧。
Dàwèi: Zuò dìtiě ba.
二、表示催促、命令 indicating urge and command
说话人用比较委婉的语气表示对听话人的催促和命令。The speaker expresses his or her urge or command to the listener in euphemism.
玛丽：快吃药吧，吃了病就好了。
Mǎlì: Kuài chīyào ba, chī le bìng jiù hǎo le.
三、表示同意、允许 indicating approval and permission
经过商讨、说明后，说话人表示同意、允许。After discussion and explanation, the speaker expresses approval and permission.
大卫：我是酒店的客人，可以先把行李放在这儿吗？
Dàwèi: Wǒ shì jiǔdiàn de kèrén, kěyǐ xiān bǎ xíngli fàngzài zhèr ma?
服务员：可以，放在这儿吧。
Fúwùyuán: Kěyǐ, fàng zài zhèr ba.
